We have been in business since 2002. We make handspun yarn and handmade clothing accessories and are dedicated to making high quality items. If you have any kind of question of concern please contact us, we welcome all comments. Click contact us for our info. Anzula is based out of Oakland in the San Francisco Bay Area. All items are handmade by Sabrina. She creates all her own patterns and one of a kind work. Sabrina learned to crochet at the age of seven and in 2000 she renewed her interest in playing with yarn. In 2002 Sabrina fell in love with spinning yarn, first on a drop spindle, then on a spinning wheel.
She says, "I love playing with yarn and seeing where it takes me."
When asked it she has a favorite item she responds, "What ever I am working on. I fall in love with it all. Every hat, bag, or skein of yarn is unique and beautiful to me."
Many people ask what Anzula means. Just as Sabrina works with fiber and yarn to make unique creations, she worked with the alphabet to create Anzula. It has a sound and feel to it that reminds her of the unique quality of her work. After creating the word, she wanted to know if there was a real world definition and looked to the World Wide Web. After many hours of digging, we have sources that believe Anzula is a female Slavic name. If anyone knows more than that, please feel free to contact us with that information.
Many thanks go out to Meg Smith of
Ancient Pathways
in Fresno, Ca. She has offered so much advise and insight that has helped make many of our steps that much easier. Thanks so much to Leslie for giving Sabrina her first drop spindle and ball of fiber (which was purchased at Ancient Pathways) for her 21st birthday. Thanks for giving a girl what she asked for.
Thanks to Roxanne for helping Leslie choose what to get.
So many thanks go out to Sabrina's wonderful boyfriend Kiel, for always being there. For listening and absorbing all the mundane and not so mundane intricacies of working with fiber. It makes her heart leap listening to him describe her work and all that goes into it. Thank you for coming along to those first events and putting up with her insanity, it meant so much to her.
Thank you to the guys at Bucky Ball Web for the fantastic site.
Thank you to everyone else who has helped and encouraged us along the way, you're the best!
And thank you for your patronage and support of Anzula, we couldn't do it with out you!
